Jewels of Mid-Coast, ME – Rockland
Rockland, Maine is one of those big towns or tiny cities that are smaller in land than coast. A large portion of Rockland is the ocean and the ports and harbors that sit there, enticing you to fish, to sail, to visit.
The downtown has some exceptional restaurants in addition to the requisite tourist traps, although most of those are quite good enough for locals, as well.
Scattered between the restaurants are museums, a bridal shop (it’s wonderful), and bookstores to name just a few.
Downtown Rockland is a little bit like a Northampton, MA or a miniature Portland, ME and certainly worth a visit. More to come on this coastal city.
